Dortmund and Liverpool run riot, as PSG snatches draw

Atletico Madrid suffered a shock defeat in the hands of German side Borussia Dortmond in their third match of the UCL group stage matches.

Dortmund who has been running riot in the bundesliga didn’t fail to do so in the UCL as they thrashed Diego Simeone’s men 4-0.

Axel Witsel put Dortmund 1-0 ahead just after the 37th minute with an assist from Archaf Hakimi, the first half ended with 1-0.

Guerreiro made it two just before the 72nd minute with another assist from Hakimi.
Ten minutes later, Jason Sancho scored the third goal for Dortmund after, with an assist from Archaf Hakimi, making it his third assist of the game.

Guerreiro scored the last goal of the game to get a brace just few minutes to the end of the game.

Also, in group A, Monaco were held by Club Brugge for Theiry Henry’s first Champions league game in charge.

Mousaa Sylla put the visitors ahead following assist from Golovin after 30 minutes of play. Wesley equalized 8 minutes later.

Either of the teams failed to score in the second half as the match ended 1-1.

Borussia Dortmund who is yet to lose a game sits at top of group A with Atletico second, while Monaco and Club Brugge who are yet to win a match are at 3rd and 4th positions respectively with one point each.

In group B, PSV and Tottenham played 2-2.

Hirving Lozano put PSV ahead 30 minutes into play, and Lucas Moura scored the equalizer nine minutes later following an assist from Keiren Trippier.

The first half of the game ended 1-1. Harry Kane scored 10 minutes into the second half by an assist from Eriksen.

Tottenham seemed to be in trouble at the 78th minute after a ferocious tackle from Tottenham’s goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris on Hirving Lozano who faced him in a one on one situation, the referee sent him off following the tackle forcing Pochettino to bring in Vorm.

De Jong equalized just before the 87th minute as they both settled for a draw.

On the other hand, Barcelona beat Inter Milan 2-0 as their register their 3rd UCL win in the campaign this season.

First half goal from Rafinha gave Barcelona the lead, as Jordi Alba’s second half goal sealed their winning.

Barcelona sits at the top of the group with nine points with Inter at second, Tottenham who has been struggling sits at 3rd with a point and PSV sits at 4th position with a point also.

In group C, Liverpool run riot against Crvena, Jurgen Klopp’s men beat Crvena 4-0.

First half goals from Firmino and Salah put the reds ahead.

The first half ended 2-0 and Salah scored another from the penalty spot to make it 3-0.

Mane failed to make it four after missing a penalty, although he redeemed himself four minutes later as he scored the final goal of the match making it 4-0.

Also in group C, PSG were held at home by Napoli who were unlucky not to get a win.

Insigne scored the only goal of the first half to put the visitors ahead at about 30 minutes into the first half.

Mario Rui scored an own goal to make it 1-1 after he deflected Thomas Munier”s pass into the back of the net.

Napoli however didn’t relevant and Dries Martens put them ahead again and made it 2-1

PSG did manage to get away with a draw, thanks to Angel Di Maria’s injury time goal.

Liverpool sits at the top of the group with six points with Napoli at 2nd with five points, Ligue 1 gaints PSG is at 3rd with 4 points and Crvena sits at bottom with just 1 point.

In group D, Galatasary and Schakle 04 ended with a goalless draw, the match ended 0-0 as neither of the side scored a goal.

On the other hand, Porto ease past Locomotive Moscow as they beat they 3-1 away from home.

Fernandes had the chance to put Locomotive ahead in the early minutes of the game, but he failed to score from the penalty spot.

Porto were also rewarded a penalty about 15 minutes later, Porto”s Moussa Marega made no mistake in putting the ball at the back of the net.

Hector Herrera scored minutes later to make it 2-0.
Locomotive responded and pulled one back after Anton Miranchuk found the back of the net before the break.

Jesus Corona sealed the win for Porto after scoring very early into the second half.

Porto tops the group with seven points, Schalke 04 sits at 2nd place with five points, Galatasaray sits at 3rd with four points while Locomotive stays at the bottom with no point at all
